How to submit your poetry:

Did you read an original poem during Poetry Open Mic Night at the Granville Center for the Arts from May to August? We'd love to feature your work in the first volume of our quarterly Not Adverse to a Verse: Poetry Anthology. You're allowed to submit one poem from each month (total of four) that you read from each open poetry night from July to September. It's free to submit, and no cost to you if your work is published in the book.

This beautifully bound hardcover book will be on display in our Community Room, available for guests to read, reflect on, and enjoy. On-demand copies will also be available to purchase, with proceeds supporting free arts programming at the Granville Center for the Arts.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT FOR VOLUME 1: September 30, 2025.

Submission Terms & Conditions:

By submitting your poem, you agree to the following:

• Original Work Only: All submitted poems must be original and written by you.

• Read at Open Mic: Only poems that were read aloud during Poetry Open Mic Night at the Granville Center for the Arts are eligible for submission.

• You Retain Ownership: You (the author) retain full rights to your work. The Granville Center for the Arts will never claim ownership or limit how you choose to use or publish your poem elsewhere.

• No Submission Fee: There is no fee to submit your work. The only requirement is that your poem was performed during Poetry Open Mic Night at the Granville Center for the Arts.

• Permission to Print: By submitting, you give the Granville Center for the Arts permission to include your poem in our quarterly Not Adverse to a Verse: Poetry Anthology.

• Display & Fundraising: Each edition will be professionally printed as a hardcover book and placed in our Community Room for guests to enjoy. Additional copies will be available for on-demand purchase, with proceeds supporting free arts programming at the Center.

• Space is Limited: Submission does not guarantee publication. Final selections are made based on available space.
